A Night of Knockouts

In the previous UFC even UFC 146 the battle of Heavyweights was meant to be one for the history books and it surly was. This amazing card was meant to be one full of knock outs with such large heavy handed fighters and it was as well.

The results for the title fight between Champion Junior Dos Santos and number one contender Frank Mir was winner by tko in the second round, Junior Dos Santos. Also Cain Velasquez defeats the nearly 300 pound giant Antonio Silva via tko in the first round. Big Country Roy Nelson defeats Dave Herman via Knock Out in the first round and proves that he is in fact worth of conteder for the heavyweight championship. Shane Del Rosario defeats Stipe Miocic in a amazing fashion with vicious elbows and stop the fight in the first round via tko. And Stefan Strube vs.  Lavar Johnson lead to the only submission of the night with winner by arm bar, Stefan Strube.

With all spectacular fights UFC really was one for the history books and may have made way for more all heavyweight fight cards.

2012 NBA Playoffs

So far in the NBA playoffs it has been a close race between all teams weather it be in the western or the eastern conference. In the Eastern conference it was a close series between the Philadelphia 76ers , Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers and the Boston Celtics. In the semi finals Miami played Indiana but Indiana fell short with a score of 95-86 for Miami. Also in the semi finals Boston played Philadelphia but in game 7 Phillie fell short with a score of 85-75 for Boston. This leaves the decision for the team to play in the playoffs against the Western Conference between Boston and Miami.

For the Western Conference the fight in the semi finals was between the San Antonio Spurs, LA Clippers, Oklahoma Thunder, and the LA Lakers. In a dominating series San Antonio Spurs beat out the LA Clipper which lead them to play in the conference finals. This lead to a very close and hard fought series between the Lakers and the Thunder but by a close score of 103-100 in game 5 the Thunder made there way to the finals to play the Spurs which will decide the team to play against the winning team in the Eastern Conference.

With such great teams who are willing to fight for it all, it is sure to be great games in the finales and even better games in the final play off series between the two conferences.

UFC 145 Results!

As stated in the previous post UFC 145 had high expectations and these expectations were well full filled. With a main event of Jon Jones vs. Rechad Evans it was expected that it was going to be one for the fans and this was well seceded. The results:

Jones Vs. Evans (Main Event)- Jones wins with unanimous decision, but made it clear that he was the better and more well rounded fighter of the two.

MacDonald Vs. Mills (CO-Main Event)- MacDonald wins with a TKO at 2:20 min in the second round.

Shaub Vs. Rothwell- Rothwell defeats Shaub with a TKO only 1:10 min in the first round.

Jones as said earlier was clearly the more well rounded fighter and proved this in a dominating fashion. He did so by controlling the fight the entire 5 rounds and defeating Evans at his own game by easily putting him on his back and showing major ground and pound.

MacDonald as usual showed his Canadian pride by being very polite and professional but when the cage door closed he showed why he was number one contender by dominating Mills, not only in the wrestling aspect of the fight but by showing off his heavy hands and ending the fight half way through with a TKO.

Shaub Vs. Rothwell was a battle between two huge heavy weights and seemed to be a very close fight but with such size and power it was almost a given that some one would fall. At only 1:10 in the first round Rothwell showed off his major strength and heavy hands by nearly knocking out Shaub but this did not happen, instead he got a major TKO and proved who really was the "bigger and badder man".
